Центр Стаса Намина (SNC) — российская некоммерческая организация, основной задачей которой является сохранение культурных традиций и продвижение современных направлений российского искусства и культуры в мире.
SNC стал первой отечественной неправительственной организацией, занимающейся проблемами культуры и образования.
С самого начала своего существования Центр, сломав государственную монополию, стал регулярно проводить фестивали и другие культурные акции, безвозмездно помогал молодым музыкантам, поэтам и художникам, предоставляя им все необходимое для творчества и создавая для них свободную творческую атмосферу. Именно для продвижения новой свободной культуры SNC создал первые в стране негосударственные фирму грамзаписи, концертное агентство, телекомпанию, радиостанцию, галерею современного искусства, дизайн-студию, театр моды, журнал, артистическое кафе и т.д. Также, впервые в стране Центр создал балет на льду и негосударственный симфонический оркестр.
В настоящее время Центр занимается организацией международных фестивалей культуры, выставок, образовательных проектов и прочих культурных мероприятий.

Создатель Центра - Стас Намин — российский музыкант и композитор, художник и фотограф, режиссер и продюсер театра и кино, антрепренер, промоутер и бизнесмен. Создатель многих социальных новаторских проектов. Культовая фигура в российской культуре 1970—2000 гг. Стас Намин — один из основателей отечественной рок-музыки, лидер группы «Цветы». Организатор первого независимого продюсерского центра SNC, откуда вышли многие отечественные звезды. Организатор первых в стране музыкальных фестивалей, в том числе: международный музыкальный фестиваль мира в Лужниках в 1989 г., серия фестивалей «Единый мир» и другие. Основатель первых в стране частных антреприз: концертного агентства, студии дизайна, фирмы грамзаписи, радиостанции, телекомпании и т. д., положивших начало российскому шоу-бизнесу. Создатель первого негосударственного симфонического оркестра, первого в стране театра мюзиклов.
История
В 1987-ом году в Зеленом Театре Парка Горького появилась одна из первых в стране негосударственных организаций - «Центр Стаса Намина», которая, следуя смелому высказыванию Горбачева: «Что не запрещено, то разрешено», собрала под своей крышей молодые, запрещенные ранее таланты. Это были: первый в стране продюсерский центр и независимая студия звукозаписи, где создавались, делали первые шаги и развивались новые музыкальные коллективы, такие как «Парк Горького», «Бригада С», «Моральный кодекс», «Калинов мост», «Ночной проспект», «Николай Коперник», «Мегаполис», «Сплин» и многие другие, а также молодые художники, поэты, дизайнеры

Здесь же рождались первые альтернативные перформансы Екатерины Рыжиковой, Петлюры, Германа Виноградова и других московских авангардистов. В Центре снимались первые независимые документальные и художественные фильмы, вопреки монополии и цензуре советского режима проводились уникальные фестивали и акции, подобных которым не было и в принципе не могло быть в СССР: международный фестиваль «Музыканты за мир» (Мелани (США), Ховард Джонс (Великобритания) и группы SNC), фестиваль альтернативной музыки (Биг Кантри (Англия) и группы SNC), исторический международный рок-фестиваль в Лужниках, (Bon Jovi, Motley Crue, Scorpions, Ozzy Osbourne, Сinderella и группы SNC).
В конце 80-х Центр Стаса Намина стал культовым местом Москвы, где можно было встретить самых известных и прогрессивных людей России и мира: Арнольда Шварцнеггера, Питера Гэбриэла, U-2, Энни Ленокс, Pink Floyd, Роберта ДеНиро, Квинси Джонса и многих других. Знаменитый Фрэнк Заппа, частый гость и друг Намина, снял фильм о Центре, а группа Scorpions посвятила ему свой хит «Ветер перемен».
90-е годы для Центра также были чрезвычайно плодотворны и насыщены многими интересными проектами: первый независимый фестиваль «Рок из Кремля» («ДДТ», Гребенщиков, Бутусов, «Моральный Кодекс», «Бригада С», «Алиса» и другие); три фестиваля «Единый мир» в Парке Горького и на Красной площади; создание Симфонического оркестра и ледового шоу; создание первого в России театра мюзиклов: Московского театра музыки и драмы; и многие другие уникальные проекты.
Созданный в Центре Холдинг SNC, ставший фактически основой отечественного шоу-бизнеса, включил в себя первые в стране независимые фирмы: студия звукозаписи «SNC Studio», продюсерский центр «SNC», концертное агентство «SNC Concerts», студия дизайна «SNC Design», модельное агентство и театры моды «SNC Fashion», ресторан «Хард - Рок – кафе», фирма грамзаписи «SNC Records», галерея современной живописи и прикладного искусства «Stanbet Gallery», радиостанция «Radio SNC», телекомпания «SNC TV», глянцевый журнал.
Сегодня Центр Стаса Намина является некоммерческой организацией, основной задачей которой является сохранение культурных традиций и продвижение современных направлений российского искусства в мире. Центр занимается организацией фестивалей, выставок и прочих культурных мероприятий, в том числе международных, связанных с музыкой, кино, театром, изобразительным искусством и др., с целью привлечения общественного интереса к российской культуре в самой России и во всем мире. Центром были организованы крупнейшие независимые и межгосударственные фестивали российской культуры в США, Корее, Китае, Германии и других странах. Обладателями награды Tower Award Фестиваля российской культуры «Russian Nights» стали: писатели Рэй Бредбери и Гор Видал, художник Питер Макс, режиссеры Оливер Стоун, Фрэнсис Форд Коппола и Уильям Фридкин, продюсеры Питер Хоффман и Роджер Корман, актеры Ширли МакЛейн, Шарон Стоун, Настасья Кински, Дастин Хоффман, Леонардо ДиКаприо, Харрисон Форд, Бен Кингсли и другие.

The Stas Namin Center (SNC) is a Russian non-profit organization dedicated to preserving Russian cultural traditions and advancing contemporary Russian arts and culture.
Since its establishment, SNC became the first Russian non-governmental organization for culture and education.
Breaking state monopoly it began to produce concerts, festivals and other cultural projects; it granted young artists, musicians and poets with necessary equipment and space, and - what is more important – with atmosphere of creativity and freedom
For the purpose of advancing and promoting this new free culture SNC has organized, created and set up the first independent Russian television and radio station, record company and music production studios, art gallery and design studio, magazine and art-cafe. It also formed the first Russian private symphony orchestra and Moscow-on-Ice ballet show.
International festivals of arts and culture, education programs, movie productions and film festivals are among other activities of SNC today.

The founder - Stas Namin is a Russian musician, composer, and record producer; artist and photographer; theatre and film director and producer; entrepreneur, promoter, and businessman. As leader of the band Flowers (Tsvety) which was the first top popular rock-band in the USSR, he gained cult figure status as one of the founders of indigenous Russian rock music. From 1970-2000 Namin initiated many innovative projects. He established the Stas Namin Centre, an independent producing hub which launched the careers of many well-known Russian performing stars. He initiated, produced and promoted the first music festivals ever held in Russia, including the International Moscow Music Peace Festival at Lenin Stadium in 1989, the series of “One World” festivals, and others. A pioneer of the Russian independent entertainment industry, he founded the country’s first private (non-governmental) concert agency, design studio, record label, radio station, television company, symphony orchestra, and musical theater.
History
After Gorbachev’s brave pronouncement in 1987 that “what is not forbidden is allowed,” one of Russia’s first non-governmental organizations, the Stas Namin Centre (SNC), opened its doors on the grounds of Gorky Park in Moscow. It was the country’s earliest producing centre for the arts and independent sound recording studio which gathered under its roof young artists, poets, designers, and musicians who had been restricted previously. It laid the groundwork for the foundation and development of the bands Brigada S, Gorky Park, Moral Code, Kalinov Bridge, Night Avenue, Nicolaus Copernicus, Megapolis, Spleen, and many others.
The Centre became the place of birth for the first in the country alternative performances by Ekaterina Ryzhikova, Petlyura, German Vinogradov and other Moscow avant-gardists.
The first independent documentary and feature films have been shot here. Despite the monopoly and censorship of the Soviet regime there have been held unique festivals and actions unimaginable during the USSR years: international festival “Peace Aid” (Melanie (USA), Howard Jones (GB), SNC bands); international Alternative Festival (Big Country (GB), SNC bands); historic international rock festival at Luzhniki (Bon Jovi, Motley Crew, Scorpions, Ozzy Osbourne, Сinderella and SNC bands).
By the end of the '80s, the Stas Namin Centre had gained cult status. It had become a place in Moscow where one could meet the most interesting and progressive people of Russia and the world: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Peter Gabriel, U2, Annie Lennox, Pink Floyd, Robert De Niro, and Quincy Jones, among others. The group Scorpions dedicated its hit “Wind of Change” to the Center, and the famous Frank Zappa, Namin’s guest, shot a film about it.
The 90’s also have been very fruitful and rich with interesting projects: first independent festival on the Kremlin stage Rock from Kremlin (Aquarium, DDT, Alisa, Nautilus, Brigada S, and others); three One World festivals in Gorky Park and at the Red Square; formation of the Moscow Symphony Orchestra (MSO) and the Moscow-on-Ice show; foundation of the Moscow Music and Drama Theatre; many other projects.
The Stas Namin Centre (SNC) Holding Company became the first de facto Russian independent entertainment corporation. It comprised the first independent firms: the sound recording studio SNC Studio, the producing center SNC, the concert agency SNC Concerts, the design studio SNC Design, the modeling agency and fashion show productions SNC Fashion, the restaurant Hard Rock Cafe, the record label SNC Records, the gallery of contemporary arts and applied arts Stanbet Gallery, the radio station Radio SNC, the television company SNC TV, and a glossy magazine.
Today the Stas Namin Centre is a non-commercial organization that works to preserve Russian cultural traditions and promote contemporary Russian art in the world. To this end, the Centre organizes intergovernmental and independent international festivals, exhibitions, educating programs, and other cultural events in the spheres of music, film, theatre, arts, and others. One important project in this vein is the largest independent festival of Russian culture “Russian Nights” which has been held in several countries, including the U.S., Korea, China, and Germany. The festival has its own prize, the Tower Award, which is bestowed upon distinguished personalities for their contributions to world culture. Past recipients of the Tower Award are: the writers Ray Bradbury and Gore Vidal; the artist Peter Max; the directors Oliver Stone, Francis Ford Coppola, and William Friedkin; the producers Peter Hoffman and Roger Corman; and the actors Shirley MacLaine, Sharon Stone, Nastassja Kinski, Dustin Hoffman, Leonardo DiCaprio, Harrison Ford, and Ben Kingsley, among others.
